It is as though Summer clubbing in Ibiza has become synonymous with Space; no clubber's visit to the White Isle is complete without at least one Space session.Yet what is it about this unassuming building in the middle of an enormous concrete car park in Playa d'en Bossa, that makes it so special? It cost Tino 4 million pesetas in the mid 1970's to buy the magnificent old finca alongside the Ibiza-San Antonio road that lurks somewhere inside the fortress that we all know as Amnesia - one of the most famous clubs in the the world, if not the universe. It's impossible to miss it as you head out of Ibiza in the direction of San Antonio just at the point where the road begins to rise uphill towards San Rafael. Amnesia was the first and remains the favoured club of the people who live on the island. Of that number, 90% are the indiginous Spanish, or more accurately Ibicencos, so this is a club that is always full - whether the tourists turn up or not.

Eden was rebuilt over the winter of 1999 and last summer offered two rooms of music, mezzanine areas, a new sound system and an increased capacity of 4,500. With the likes of Dave Pearce and Judge Jules hosting their own nights, 9 bars plus a seperate "isolation bar" with its own decks and soundproof floor to ceiling sliding glass door and an after hours bar in the Garden Of Eden next to it. Eden has lost it's old 18-30 image and is now a credible alternative & brave competition to Es Paradis next door.

Privilege is the largest club on the island, and now officially the largest club in the world (Guinness Book of records 2001) but became famous under its previous name 'Ku'. It sits proudly on top of the hill between Ibiza town and San Antonio near to the village of San Rafael looking from a distance like some huge, domed UFO that has landed temporarily to refuel. If size is a virtue then this club has it by the bucket load.

El Divino is set on the marina - right opposide the main drag of the Port area - so if you are doing the pre-club bit there and don't fancy a walk, you can take the El Divino boat over - it's free if you have a ticket for the nightclub.

To find Es Paradis Terrenal turn left at the San Antonio egg and look for the lunatic bungee jumping machine, when you find that you've just past the place you were looking for originally. Es Paradis Terrenal is a spectacular club, in the shape of a pyramid, overlooking San Antonio Bay. One of the few clubs that you can reach on foot from the centre of the nearest town.

Ibiza Bars come in the thousands and in many shapes and sizes as well as tastes of course! Going to bars before going out is almost a ritual on Ibiza, both for Locals and tourists. Located just in front of the docks of the Ibiza Town is "the Rock Bar". This is one of the most popular pre-party bars in the Ibiza port area. Run by a Swiss and an Englishman this historic bar is used as a meeting point for many locals and tourists before going off to the clubs.

Who does not know or has ever heard about the legendary Café del Mar. Located in San Anotonio along the sunset strip this is the authentic sunset bar. The pioneer, having been built all the way back in 1980, before many of us where born! In spite of the rise of its newer neighbours including Café Mambo or Savannah for instance, the place everyone goes to is still Café del Mar.
